Chili Chicken

Here is a basic recipe for making chili chicken:


500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 tablespoons oil

1 large onion, finely chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried chili flakes (or to taste)

1 cup chicken broth

1 can diced tomatoes

Salt and pepper to taste


In a large pan or wok, heat the oil over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook until soft and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.

Stir in the tomato paste, cumin powder, paprika, and chili flakes, cook for 1-2 minutes.

Pour in the chicken broth and diced tomatoes, bring to a simmer.

Add the chicken back to the pan and let it cook in the sauce for 10-15 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with rice.
